RSL ACT VETERANS’ SUPPORT CENTRES

Entitlements & Advocacy
The RSL ACT Veterans’ Support Centres (VSCs) provide pension, advocacy and welfare services. Each year, our more than 20 trained and experienced volunteer advocates assist around 450 veterans and serving ADF personnel to prepare and submit claims and appeals under the various Veterans' Entitlements Acts. RSL ACT community support AND WELFARE

The Branch and our sub-branches provide for the general welfare of members and their dependents in need. Welfare officers are available to advise on all aspects, such as Gold and White Cards, travel, Veterans Home Care, residential care, HACC services, DVA Housing and financial information. hospital, home and hospice visits

Sub-branch volunteers visit all of the major hospitals in Canberra on a regular basis. They aim to visit every veteran, RSL member and Legacy widow or widower. If you are hospitalised, ask the Veterans Liaison Officer to contact our team. Hospice visits are made as required and home visits by appointment.

Funerals: We can help arrange RSL Funeral Tribute of veterans. Please contact your Sub-Branch to arrange for a service record and a representative to deliver an RSL Tribute for service members and veterans.

community engagement

Other agencies and ESOs: We liaise with Federal and ACT government agencies, organisations and other ex-service organisations to help provide welfare services.
Schools, aged care: We engage with schools and aged care residences for ceremonial purposes.
Funerals: We can help arrange RSL Funeral Tributes for veterans. Phone 6106 9554 to arrange for an official tribute to be delivered by an RSL volunteer.

day clubs

Day Clubs assist the aged, the isolated, widows and widowers, people with disabilities, carers and volunteers to develop and maintain social contact outside the home through activities such as games, sports, fitness, information sessions and arts and crafts. Eddison Day Club (0408 027 246) is sponsored by the Woden Valley Sub-Branch meets every Friday from 10am to 2pm (except Good Friday) at the Irish Club, Parkinson Street, Weston.
